Paul Ardill - Life Member CCTTA

Prior to moving to the Central
Coast Paul was involved at committee level in the Souths Juniors Competition
and played in the Sydney University teams competition with most of his junior
table tennis being in the Eastern Suburbs competition. Paul moved from Sydney
to live on the Central Coast in 1993 where he played at Ettalong Beach War Memorial
Club. Due to the sickness of his wife Paul did not start playing in our
competition until July 2005 and then joined the committee in 2007. In 2011 he held
the position of Vice President. Paul managed the Table Tennis at the Gosford
Senior Citizens centre after the passing of Ray Gale. With his inclusion on the
committee Monday night hit-ups commenced which provided an invaluable extra
venue for player training and has acted as a feeder club into the association.
In 2009 and 2014 Paul was the backbone of our two re-unions spending countless
hours in the library researching our history and making countless phone calls
contacting past players. Paul has a background in photography and has become
our unofficial camera man and does a lot of the background work such as
printing newsletters and scoresheets and arranging and picking up competition
trophies and shirts. Nothing is too much trouble for him. Paul’s greatest trait
is the willingness to help whenever needed. Paul was presented with Life
Membership by President Martin Dorrough at the associations 60th
re-union held at the Gosford R.S.L. club, 21st June 2014.
