Stefan Bjarne - Life Member CCTTA

Stefan has been with the CCTTA since 1985, in this time he has held several committee roles including treasurer, recorder and president .He appeared on the committee in 1990, 1997, 1998, 2000-2004. Treasurer in 1993 & 1998. President in 1994,& 1995. Recorder in 1996.
He spent time running a club for juniors at East Gosford in the early 90’s, where on a Monday night, he could be seen trying to control juniors with 4 tables for a couple of hours.
Although singles success has eluded him, team and doubles successes were regular through the 1990’s. He was runner up with Alan Crank in 2001, 2003
Stefan would be most identified for some of his trademark shots and comments:
His heavy spin serve, has caused all of his opponents some degree of problem over the years. Of course should a return be made, it was often followed by a short, sharp smash, to win him the point.
The most regular comment coming from Stefan during a game is “what happened”, due to a good shot being perpetrated by himself, or the opposition being too quick. This was generally in reference to the fact that he claimed have some difficulty in seeing the ball, not many who played against him would agree.
As the man with the job of locking up while the CCTTA was at Henry Kendal School, Stefan could always be found playing long after everyone else had gone home, sometimes not emerging until after midnight, I’m sure he would have stayed all night if his opponents were able to keep up
